Sound massage uses singing bowls directly on the body. The bowls rest on selected areas and are gently struck, so the sound is heard while the vibration is felt through the body. In this certification, you’ll learn the techniques and considerations involved in offering this form of sound work.

This two-day, hands-on training introduces the foundations of working with singing bowls in a one-to-one session. You’ll learn how to prepare your space, communicate with the person receiving the session, select and position bowls, and use mallets to create different tones and vibrations. We’ll also explore pacing, transitions, and how to adjust your approach during a session.

You’ll have time to practice giving and receiving sound massage, building familiarity with the techniques from both sides of the experience. We’ll discuss how sound massage differs from a group sound bath, along with the practical considerations involved in offering it to others.

At Divine North, we bring together practical learning, personal experience, and curiosity about the many ways sound can be explored. This training is designed to help you develop a thoughtful foundation for offering sound massage.

This certification is open to sound practitioners, Reiki practitioners, massage therapists, yoga teachers, wellness professionals, and anyone interested in learning this approach to working with singing bowls. No previous experience with sound massage is needed.

Students are required to purchase the three-bowl set for use in the training. The bowl set is an additional cost and must be purchased at the time of registration so it can be ordered before class.
